The Text Of Festival: Hawkwind Live 1970-72 (2008 UK 7-track digitally remastered CD album featuring rare BBC recordings made between August 1970 and May 1971, showcasing the legendary group's early preoccupations with hypnotic driving rhythms, electronic textures and free jazz sax & flute touches; the core of Dave Brock [vocals, guitar], Nik Turner [vocals, sax, flute], Dik Mik [electronics] and Terry Ollis [drums] is joined by Thomas Crimble [bass, 1970], Dave Anderson [bass, 1971] and Huw Lloyd-Langton [lead guitar, 1970]. The sound may be a little muddy in places, but these raw cuts have a chaotic energy and exuberance missing from their studio counterparts, so dig 'em! Presented in card slipcase.
