More info
OK. So Muswell Hillbillies was the last great album. But this is rather good. Ray's in almost frolicksome mood, gambolling through a couple of AOR standards - Misfits and Rock and Roll Fantasy (AOR isn't my cup of tea, but if it was all like this is would be tolerable enough), and hilariously taking the mickey out of the early-PC thought police with Black Messiah and Out of the Wardrobe. In a Foreign Land is a wicked jibe at his tax-exile rock and roll contemporaries (OK Mick?). Live Life is a pretty standard rocker and the rest is also standard stuff. But hey! how many Arthur's and Village Greens can one band produce. Stick it on in the car one day. If you listen to the words it will make you smile and it'll pass 40 minutes away very nicely. Get the version with the Father Christmas bonus track. It's worth the money just for that, really.
