Bolan once again shines with The Slider, another magnificent slice of pop/rock heaven from the 70's. Bolan and Visconti were a great team, his input should not be discounted. The Slider is a wonderful follow up to Electric Warrior. Bolan plays his arse off (Rabbit Fighter) and the Ballrooms Of Mars is an underrated masterpiece. Superb in every way. It is the peak of the T.Rex sound, a sound that many have tried to equal to this day, his influence can still be heard (see Black Keys). Bolan may have been flawed as a musician, but his ideas and his output at this time rank him highly as a very influential artist not recognised enough for his contribution to rock n' roll. 'A silver studded, sabre toothed dream', only Bolan could write that and get away with it.
