This is one of those gigs which was recorded live on the night and actually saw release which is strange enough for Hawkwind, because usually there’s years of squabbling about royalties and rights. The night was also bootlegged and from what I gather the boot is very similar to this official release in quality and content. In fact, the boot (which I own…) has a rare introduction which was excluded from the official release for some odd reason. Recorded live on November 12th 1982, at Hammersmith Odeon, the double disk bootleg is of fairly good quality and is usually considered just as essential as the unofficial version. The concert was part of the Choose Your Masques tour and my obvious highlight were Angels OF Death and psychedelic Warlords which I have seen done live many times, albeit in very different eras.
