Always been a big fan of the Heep. The US version of their first was an early purchase of mine, and I kept the ball rolling through most of their discography. When I discovered the import version had a different track list, I had to track down a copy of that as well. A4 is the only thing different between the two issues, but both are worth owning for their respective cuts. Yes, it can be said they lack a lot of the finesse of their contemporaries in the prog hard rock world, but that's one of the things that made them what they were. I remember reading a review of their first release in some music industry rag, in which the female reviewer totally railed against their (in her opinion) lack of talent, and that if Uriah Heep ever 'made it', she would quit the industry. I hope she stuck to her word. This debut album is true to it's title, containing very 'eavy guitar and keyboard driven prog hard rock. Possibly not their best release, but a solid opener for a band that would certainly go on to 'make it'.
