Michael Stanley's self-titled debut, the first of two "solo" albums prior to his forming the long running Michael Stanley Band, contains pleasantly mellow singer/songwriter soft rock, including fan favorite "Rosewood Bitters". Other standouts are "Denver Rain", live staple "Moving Right Along", and the record's sole rocker "Rock and Roll Man". Produced by Bill Szymczyk, contributing musicians include Joe Walsh, Todd Rundgren, Rick Derringer, and Joe Vitale.
